The Control & Power Distro serves as an independent safety measure that can immediately pause or disable a laser system that’s possibly entering a dangerous or damaging situation. What’s more, it can be triggered locally via the stage or remotely by the laser operator thus allowing the lasers to be stopped immediately.
The Control & Power Distro unit has two levels of E-Stop a 50% kill which will activate the open condition on the interlock input and a“ 100% kill which kills total power to the system. The 50% kill is a CATEGORY 2 which is not classed as an E-Stop but is built into the laser systems by manufacturers. The 100% kill is a CATEGORY 0 which is the highest level of E-Stop and will stop everything connected to it. Both of the E-Stops are switched via independent relays which are rated at 277VAC @ 20A & 30VDC @ 20A.
The inclusion of XLR and Powercon connections on the front of the controller allows the use of POE Snake looms which takes power, control and interlock to each projector. The E-Stop on the front, when operated, will kill both the 50% XLR interlock and the 100% power output.
The type of power connectors varies from country to country, but we can supply the cables unterminated for the end user to affix the appropriate power connector relevant to their country.
ISO 13850 limits the selection of E-Stop categories to Category 0 or 1 and excludes Category 2. Category 2 may only be used for operational or “normal” stopping functions.
